Cudgegong Park Murray Greys and Angus

Breeding Practices at Cudgegong Park

General.

    • Our cattle are managed as a commercial herd with emphasis on foraging ability, fertility, milking ability, calving ease and carcase quality.
    • All cattle are reared and performance tested off grass from birth, so as to give results relevant to efficient cattle.
    • All heifers calve at 2 years and any requiring assistance are culled.
    • Joining periods are restricted and any non-performers or late calvers are culled from the herd.
    • No supplementary feeding takes place, except in severe drought conditions. Feeding cattle reduces your profit and disguises efficient cattle.
    • Cudgegong Park is an Accredited Seedstock Producer, Cattlecare Producers  (P2001018), and has MN3 Johne’s Free Herd Status (No. N2468).

      • Structural soundness of legs, feet and penis and
      • Have been semen tested by a veterinarian.
    • Mr. Chris Callow has independently assessed their muscle score. Muscle score is the best prediction of actual retail meat yield available today.
    • All bulls have been vaccinated with Vibrio Vaccine
    • All sale cattle have been drenched and vaccinated with either “5 in 1” or “7 in 1” vaccine.
    • All sale cattle are unassisted at birth.
    • Antibiotics are only used in extreme circumstances.
    • We do not practice hoof trimming, foster rearing or give hormones and growth stimulants.
